First National PSA Campaign About Prediabetes

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the American Medical Association (AMA) have partnered with the Ad Council to raise awareness through a national PSA campaign about prediabetes.

This serious health condition affects 86 million Americans and often leads to type 2 diabetes. Shockingly only 10 percent of people with prediabetes know they have it.

EmblemHealth offers a National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and AHIP. Conveniently held at its EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care (EHNC) locations in Harlem and Cambria Heights, the free program teaches individuals at risk for diabetes the habits and techniques necessary to avoid diabetes and lead healthier lives. A CDC-trained EmblemHealth lifestyle coach leads group sessions and uses a member-centric approach to engage participants. To learn more about the program call 646-447-0976.
